Paris, 2024. Textile work presented at "Tales of Xenophobia" ("Les Autres..."), the inaugural itinerant exhibition by the Tora and Art Foundation in collaboration with the Sarah Vinitz Foundation — 31 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris, 9–31 October 2024.
Working with fabric is a true pleasure — such a living material. I mostly use natural fabrics like canvas and work directly on them, without sketches.
This piece grew out of a practical problem: I was preparing for a small show and thought two textile works should hang together in the middle of the room, so I needed something for the other side too. I made whatever came to mind first. The result felt too raw, too "bloody" for that gallery, and it was left out. Paris did the opposite — it's exactly the side they chose to hang.
